Virtual Tax Club Quiz Competition: KW-IRS Announces Winners of Preliminary Stages

The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) has successfully concluded the preliminary stages of the 2024 Tax Club Quiz Competition, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development. The competition, which began on June 24, 2024, saw 154 schools register and 83 participate in the online Computer Based Test.

After two rounds, 12 schools emerged victorious and qualified for the semi-final stage, with four schools from each Senatorial District making the cut. The qualified schools are:

- Government Day Secondary School, Gaa-Akanbi
- Ilorin South Local Government Secondary School, Oke-Adini
- Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, Asa Dam
- Total Child Secondary School, Ilorin (Kwara Central)



- Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo
- Anglican Boys’ Academy, Oro
- Kwara State College of Education Model Secondary School, Oro
- Apostolic Faith Secondary School, Egosi-Ile (Kwara South)


- Government Secondary School, Lafiagi
- Royal Seed High School, Jebba
- Shepherd Secondary School, Lafiagi
- Baptist Model High School, Kaiama (Kwara North)

Funmilola Oguntunbi, Convener of the KW-IRS Tax Club Advocacy Committee, praised the success of the virtual competition, which was held for the first time in the history of the Tax Club Quiz Competition. Despite some technical challenges, the competition was a landmark achievement for the Service.

Mrs Roseline Ayansola, representative of the Honourable Commissioner, Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, commended all registered schools for participating and congratulated the 12 winning schools for their outstanding performance.

The semi-final stage will be held virtually on October 7, 2024, with six schools advancing to the final stage on November 7, 2024. The ultimate winner will receive a prize money of N2.5m.
