Group Claims Centre Was Originally a Mosque, Now Houses 'Unwanted' Worshippers
A group of Muslim worshippers, allegedly acting on the instructions of the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, yesterday stormed a worship centre in the Alalubosa area of Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The group, led by one "Olojatuntun", claimed that the centre was originally a mosque but had been housing worshippers from other religions, which they described as an "anomaly" that would no longer be tolerated.
According to eyewitnesses, the group arrived at the centre in the early hours of the day and began demolishing the structure, citing the Emir's instructions.
The incident has sparked tension in the area, with many residents expressing fear and uncertainty about the situation.
The Emir's palace has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but sources close to the palace confirmed that the Emir had indeed given the order for the demolition.
